Camp Gesher (bridge),  established in 2005, is for campers ages 11-13. At this age, campers need to express their individuality as well as relate to a strong peer-group experience. This program works to build a sense of mutual responsibility and cooperation and strengthen their Jewish identity.

      Gesher activities support these goals. Campers actively participate in weekly Shabbat services, create unique art projects, chugim (daily elective activities including art, photography, cooking and more), sports, low ropes course, nature hikes, swimming, fishing and more.  Camp Gesher introduces leadership development skills. At age 14 these campers may apply for the counselor-in-training program, Mahon, at Camp Shalom. This group also takes field trips relevant to camp programming. Camp Gesher provides a challenging and activity filled camping experience for campers ages 11-13.

The Overnight

     Camp Gesher campers also have one overnight each week of camp. Campers will help set up tents, enjoy a campfire, storytelling and special overnight activities. 

SPECIAL OVERNIGHT THIS YEAR!

   This year Camp Gesher will go on the road for a 3 day Shabbat weekend experience. The overnights for both weeks are combined into a fun and spiritually filled 3 days at Camp Livingston, a JCC overnight camp in Bennington, Indiana. Gesher will join their daily routine from Friday, July 30 through Sunday, August 1. All food, lodging, and transportation will be provided for only $75. Give your child this incredible experience. Extended Day

     Extended Day is an option for the camper to stay until 5:45 p.m. rather than leaving at the regular dismissal time of 3:00 pm.  An extra swim session and craft projects, as well as other supervised activities are offered. The fee for the week is an additional $40 and requires pre-registration.
