May 19, 2019 @ 7:00 p.m. - A Toast to Federation's Future

Our annual fundraiser for donors giving a minimum of $1,000 per couple or $500 per person, and young professionals interested in leadership and philanthropy for our community.
This year's guest speaker will be Steve Wendell, Executive Director of the United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula.

Steve Wendell has been involved in Jewish communal service from the time he was “Aleph Godol” (President) of Connecticut Valley Region AZA in the 60s. Since that time, his volunteer and professional Jewish career has been intertwined with many local, regional, and national Jewish organizations from Hillel, to Jewish Community Centers and Jewish Federations, to Jewish National Fund, to Young Judaea, to Jewish Day Schools, to Jewish Camping.

Most recently, Steve has served as Executive Director of United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula in Newport News, VA. Under Steve’s leadership, the UJCVP has created a campus model for small Jewish communities. Utilizing integrated facilities, the new UJCVP Campus includes a large, 100 student infant-care and pre-school, an Orthodox congregation, a Conservative congregation, a Reform congregation, Jewish Family Service, and a Jewish Federation/Jewish Community Center.

This event is being hosted at the home of Linda and Leon Ravvin.
