To the members of the Jewish community who are on the “front lines,” and all who are working to keep us safe and healthy during this difficult time and always, know that we are here for you, we support you, and we are so thankful for all that you are doing for every single one of us. Thank you!

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the entire Jewish community of Central Kentucky, we, the undersigned, wish to extend our gratitude as you continue to provide support during this challenging time to all of us who call the Bluegrass and Kentucky our home.

It is because of your hard work, dedication, and bravery we are able to secure the basic resources we need to feed our families, keep our loved ones, friends and homes protected from harm, endure hours of isolation, or assure our health and general well-being.  We recognize the great sacrifices you are making on the “front lines” for our entire community and we appreciate the light you bring to the world during this time of darkness and uncertainty.

Jewish Tradition teaches us that the mitzvah (commandment) of Pikuach Nefesh – doing what is necessary to save a life – is among the highest responsibilities we have as human beings.  Your actions and commitment truly fulfill God’s teaching as you provide a lifeline to all of us.

May the work of your hands be blessed.
May you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy.
May the day come when we see this horrible virus vanquished, knowing that our community, commonwealth and country stood together during the worst of times and gave only the best of our humanity.

With sincere thanks from the Jewish Community of Central Kentucky,
