In a beautiful display of like-minded thinking and partnership, Jewish Federation of the Bluegrass, Ohavay Zion Synagogue, and Temple Adath Israel all individually decided on the same day to co-sponsor an Afghan family resettling in Fayette County.
In keeping with our community’s collaborative dedication to tikkun olam, we quickly joined together to support this family in need. Our community is one that understands all too well what it’s like to flee a country that is too dangerous to live in. We believe in the importance of not just being bystanders, but of welcoming those who are in urgent need, and who have, moreover, been our allies. With this in mind, JFB, OZS, and TAI are partnering to help co-sponsor an Afghan family with Kentucky Refugees Ministries (KRM).
In addition to basic necessities, furnishings, and other items the family may need, we are also collecting funds on behalf of the Jewish community to support the family through their transition.
